Meet Our Small Team:

Jason Pullen - Head Chef
Jason has an advanced diploma in Hospitality & Catering Management which he obtained at West Norfolk College.
On leaving college Jason commenced his career working as a manager at the Kings Head Hotel, then furthering his career in cooking he became a chef at The George Hotel and then the Swan at Gressenhall.
Jason achieved many certifications during this period and went on to own his own Public house, but has now returned to his love of cooking

Gavin Hunt - married to the boss!!
Since marrying Vikki, Gavin plays an integral part within our small lodge team and has recently undertaken his NCPLH. Gavin has trained under the watchful eye of Jason and often covers in the kitchen during holiday periods although he has many other titles such as, barman, waiter, potwash, fixer, gardener, delivery van man to name a few! With Gavins background as a Hydraulics engineer he has surprisingly adapted to the manic ways of a busy pub & restaurant life! Gavin is also the Propreitor of the Lodge Sandwich bar which operates from these premises and delivers a range of homemade snacks cakes, sandwiches and buffets to local business's in the East Dereham area.

Poppie Mann - 2nd chef
Poppie has worked at the Lodge since she was 16 and undertook her NVQ training here with us during which time she won a local competition and was awarded the 'young apprentice chef of the year 2010' Following Poppies apprenticeship she has worked at 2 other establishments in the last 12 months, gaining experience of the industry and has since returned to us in the position of 2nd chef. We are very excited to have Poppie back 'on the team' and feel 2012 will be a very sucessful year for the Lodge.

Brian Johnson- Apprentice chef
Brian started with us in September 2011 on a NVQ apprenticeship and is so far showing some good kitchen skills with a promising future ahead of him

Sophie Watson - Trainee manager
Sophie lives in the village and has worked as a waitress at The Lodge on and off since she was 14years old! Sophie is now undertaking her NVQ Level 3 in Hospitatlity & Management & has recently taken her NCPLH.

Erin King - Bosses Eldest daughter
Erin is schooling at the LVS in Ascot, Berkshire but is regularly seen helping behind the bar & in the restaurant on her weekends home and during the school holidays.

Megan King - Bosses youngest daughter
Megan is a year away from being old enough to work officially at The Lodge but is often seen tending to her rabbit in the beer garden or walking our dog ' Walrus' The Jack russel and more often than not chatting to the 'locals'
